Great ManualReview by SDG
Rating First I want to state that I own the Simplisse double electric pump (which I love) and I also have used the Medela Harmony manual breast pump. I found that the Simplisse manual breast pump takes just a little longer for the initial let down however I was able to get the same volume (2-4oz depending on time of day) I am used in about 10 minutes without any pain. The Medela hand pump made me really sore and red after use. My complaints would be that there are many pieces that are kind of a hassle to wash/assemble and milk can start to pool at the mouth of the bottle. I do also think the detail of how the cap snaps onto the base of the pump is a design flaw, both are a hard brittle plastic. While this hasn't broken yet I think it would be extremely easy to break.

So Glad I bought this Pump!Review by Martha
Rating I love this pump. After using several other pumps, and wasting a lot of money, I decided to buy this pump. All the other pumps would pull and tug, and leave my nipples bruised and sore. Then when I would go to nurse my son, they would be so tender I would swear to never use that pump again. This pump is so comfortable, and I barely even notice any suction. It actually just compresses around the nipple, and doesn't pull on the nipple like many other pumps. It takes me just 5 minutes to pull 4 ounces of milk from both breasts total, and my son is only a month old. (I was only able to get 1 ounce from both breasts total from the Avent pump.) It is easy to assemble, and easy to clean. If anyone thinks this product is hard to take apart or put together, they just didn't bother to read the instructions. Only downside is that it is a little hard on the hand while pumping.
I am so happy I purchased this product. Without it, I would not be able to store up my breast milk for when I go back to work in a few weeks.

what a waste of $Review by Bundlesmommy
Rating I totally agree w/TexasMommy. Mine pump worked only once and after that even though I assambled it correctly and tried numerous times it wouldn't work. The valve kept going up the wrong direction and without it the pump didn't work. I also didn't get any responses from the company. One of the worst products I have ever bought!

Great PumpReview by Jessica
Rating This pump provides a totally comfortable pumping experience. It elicits a quick let down and expresses a good amount of milk for a manual pump. It does not distort your breasts like other pumps I have used. I actually used it while walking around my house and felt absolutely no tugging or squeezing, thus thought I was doing something wrong. Much to my surprise, I looked down and had over two ounces of milk after pumping for about two minutes. I highly recommend this pump!

Buyer BewareReview by Texas Mommy
Rating The name "Simplisse" must be French for many ridiculous steps for assembly and disassembly and miserable to clean. There are 14 steps for assembly and 9 for disassembly with so many nooks and crannies to clean. I can't believe this thing is even on the market. I bought mine from Babies R Us and it can't be returned for any reason. Mine malfunctioned the first time I used it. The rubber valve gets sucked in the up position preventing milk from spilling into the bottle. The only recourse is to contact the manufacturer which I haven't done yet. We'll see how Simplisse that proves to be.
Buy an electric breast pump that allows you to use batteries.

Life SaverReview by New Granny
Rating The Simplisse breastfeeding companion was a lifesaver for my daughter! She had a baby a week ago, and while she was in the hospital, she had a terrible time breast feeding because she was engorged and the baby could not latch. The lactation nurse recommended that she use a manual pump to help with feedings during this time. The Simplisse manual helped her to quickly stimulate let down without discomfort and feed my granddaughter without delay.

Would recommend to friends Review by Claire
Rating I love this pump. It is very comfortable and efficient.
There is a learning curve with cleaning and putting it together, but if you read the instructions there shouldn't be a problem at all.

Disappointed MomReview by Olivia
Rating I've used lots of breastpumps and never had a problem getting plenty of milk. When I saw the Simplisse reviews, I was excited to try it because it looked like a terrific pump. Boy was I wrong. Not only did I get zero milk from the pump (I tried on five different occassions), the handle was uncomfortable for my small hands and the nipple tunnel was too small to fit my nipple. There were also too many parts and pieces to clean which made set up of this pump very confusing. Shocked by all of the stellar ratings of this pump, because I got ZERO milk. Total waste of money.

fantastic!!Review by pumping mama
Rating I love love love this pump! I pump multiple times a day, five days a week due to work and am use to using an electric pump, but let me tell you...I've since switched to using this manual because of the comfort level! You cannot even tell that this pump is working because there is no discomfort! It is less efficient than double pumping for working moms, but the comfort value alone, in addition that I'm able to pump the same amount or more causes me to use this manual instead of my double electric.

Gentle but effective!Review by wookumus
Rating This pumps feels like my baby is breastfeeding. I didn't believe it would work at first because I was used to pumping and feeling discomfort. This is a whole new experience, I cannot imagine using another manual pump.

Comfortable and Easy to UseReview by NVMama
Rating I'm a big fan of this breast pump. The breast cup is soft, no hard plastic like some other pumps. The pumping mechanism doesn't hurt and I definitely got more out of my breasts from this pump than another manual I was using. It cleans easily in the dishwasher and is pretty easy to assemble. Would definitely recommend it to other breast feeding moms.

I can finally pump without pain!Review by Keri
Rating Prior to trying the Simplisse, I had two other manual pumps, but it was always too painful for me to pump a bottle for my little girl. I'd usually resort to manual hand expression after pumping for only a few minutes. I'm guessing that the suck-and-release that they mention the other kinds of pumps use was the problem. Though I've only just started using the Simplisse I have noticed a major difference in the sensation that I'm experiencing. The way that the soft shield moves feels much more comfortable to me than anything else that I've tried thus far. Here's to hoping that it'll be the last pump that I get!
