  1. Best MethodReview by GaMommy

After researching different methods that are the most economical and space saving to store breast milk, I think this is the best system so far that I've used. Storage bags are expensive when you put about 4 oz or so in each bag. I tried the Avent Via breast milk storage system which I thought were great at first because when the containers on not in use, they can stack on top of each other without taking a lot of space, but the reality is the containers take up too much space in the freezer. I wanted to try Playtex One Step Milk Storage system, but you have to buy several boxes because you need more lids and have to continue to buy the liners. They also take up space in the freezer. So, I thought I would try Sensible Lines. So far it's a system that I found that works for me. I haven't defrosted them, but you will need a wide neck bottle if you want to defrost directly in to a bottle for feeding.

Cons: Messy - the lid is not air tight and when you slightly move the tray when it is full, there will be some spillage. It's also messy when you remove the frozen milk from the trays to be transported into a zip lock bag. Some of the milk will thaw out a little and you will lose a little bit of milk in the process.

Pros: Space saving in the freezer. Can store in smaller amounts (1 oz) for easy defrosting and for baby to consume without waste. More economical than storage bags and less bulky than plastic containers. Not very hygienic unless you use tongs to pick up the frozen milk to transfer to zip lock bags. If you use your hands, it gets very messy.

Overall: I continue to use this and would recommend this system for breast milk storage.

  2. Almost PerfectReview by Julie

This is a great idea and I enjoy using it. The only downfall is that the lid doesn't seal tightly on the base and therefor the milk can leak out somewhat if you aren't careful. It also has to be placed on a completely flat surface in the freezer because otherwise part of the milk freezes to the lid. I still use it regularly; I just make sure to carry it carefully from the counter to the freezer.

  3. I use it, but I wish it were betterReview by Oakland Mama

I use these trays exclusively for freezing my breastmilk. I like the flexibility of having 1 oz sticks of milk. The plastic trays are BPA free and easy to clean. HOWEVER, there are some serious design flaws: the biggest problem is that the tray lids don't fit tightly, so milk is easily spilled. I use Dr. brown's bottles and find I can fit four sticks in without starting to break them. More than that and I have to break them to fit them in.

  4. Good in TheoryReview by Gabriel's Mom

I was very excited to receive these milk trays. It just makes sense to be able to chose the amount of milk you want to thaw each feeding verses only being able to thaw the size bag you froze previously. And putting all of one day's milk into one freezer bag seemed more organized and much cheaper than using expensive breast milk bags. However, it didn't work for me. Any slight angle to your freezer causes the shape to be slightly askew. The lid is not tight, so one of my trays even leaked milk out. And I had difficulty getting the cubes out. I had to let them thaw on the counter longer than I felt comfortable in order to be able to pop the cubes out. There was too much milk loss for me to be happy with these trays

  5. GREAT item!Review by MicheleB

These trays are great! I hated that whenever I pumped breastmilk before, so much of it went to waste because I would freeze 5 oz at a time and it didn't always get used up in one feeding. The 1 oz sticks are so convenient and there is much less waste. I did not have any problems with the trays melting becoming warped. I wash all my plastic by hand. I don't have any complaints at all.
