I started breast feeding my first child in 2009 but due to a lack of support and knowledge it didn't work out. Back then I used a different nipple cream which had a strong smell and taste to it and my baby hated it, which didn't help the matter. With my new baby I really wanted to stick with the breast feeding, no matter what, and I did. Lansinoh HPA Lanolin definitely helped a lot! Due to the experience with my first child I started using this product from the first latch and I kept applying it every time after feeding. I still had a lot of pain and bleeding nipples but with the cream the nipples stayed soft and I could keep nursing. Now my baby is one month old, breast feeding works great and I use the cream every once in a while when I start to feel sore. Lansinoh HPA Lanolin doesn't smell and you don't have to wipe it off before feedings, also it doesn't bother my baby one bit.

  2. Didn't work for meReview by First time Mom

As a first time mom I used Lansinoh because that is what the other moms recommended. After a week of using Lansinoh I noticed that my baby's cheecks started to break out in an awful rash that only got worse as the days went by. Fianlly I took her to the Dr. and it was determined it was from the Lanolin (sheep grease) in the Lansinoh, everyone else told me it was just baby acne, but I knew it wasn't. So if your baby breaks our unexpectedly it could be from the lanolin and not just "baby acne".

Im a first time mom/breastfeeder I had gotten Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter and while i liked it it didnt have the thickness that this product had. I used both but when i experienced severe scabs and peeling i turned to this product to offer the protection i needed and soothing.

Forget about breast feeding..... this is the ONLY product on the market that works effectively in healing dry, cracked, painful CHAPPED LIPS. And you would not believe what it can do for rough, DRY FEET! I use this stuff every day, and I don't have any kids!

  5. Can't live w/o this stuffReview by newbiemomma

The hospital lactation consultant gave me a sample tube of this stuff in the hospital - baby and I were having a really hard time with breastfeeding, and by day three my nipples seriously looked like someone slashed them with knives. I was bleeding and had bruising (we eventually got the hang of it, though!), and when the consultant saw it, she gave me a little tube of the Lansinoh lanolin. I don't know what I would have done without this... aside from having stopped breastfeeding for one thing. You're not supposed to use any lotion on your breasts while breastfeeding, so this stuff is a LIFESAVER since it's perfectly safe for baby and protects my poor nipples from getting cracked again >< (and you don't have to wipe/wash it off to feed the baby). I ended up with Mastitis from my first few days of attempting breastfeeding since my skin broke right open, but since then I have had no problems since my skin stays supple with this stuff on them. I find it especially helpful these days after using a breast pump... I give my nipples a few moments to dry and then slather this stuff on.

Seriously an infection-saver, my skin hasn't broken open since and my baby is a really aggressive latcher, even at 2 months. By the way, I've also found this stuff really good for chapped lips/elbows/etc, and even used it to smooth down a few flyaway hairs around my face in a pinch.

After 3 days my cracked nipples were feeling much better. I used the Lanolin after every breastfeeding session for a couple of days until I was cured.
